Authorities say a Bloomington man died during a weekend kayaking accident in northern Illinois.
The 26-year-old man was in a kayak on the Fox River near Geneva on Saturday when the boat went over a dam. One man was thrown from the kayak, while a second was stuck in the boat.
He was pulled from the water about two hours later and pronounced dead at the scene. The second man was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.
Authorities haven’t released either man’s name.
Authorities say the two were in Geneva with a group of friends for the kayaking trip. No one else was injured.
