Although he has stepped down as interim superintendent, Bob Hill will be on the payroll of Springfield School District 186 for a little longer.
The school board has agreed to keep Hill on to help with the transition of new superintendent Jennifer Gill but also focus on updating the district’s policies.
“This policy handbook is an awesome responsibility. We certainly don’t have the time to do it. It would take us forever for us to do it. I think Dr. Hill is a good person to do it because he has because he has been here and has done this and knows the history of the handbook” says new School Board President Mike Zimmers.
Zimmers says the salary of 650-dollars is well-spent; otherwise an outside firm would need to be brought in and he says that would cost much more.
