State Representative Rich Brauer says an Auditor General’s report critical of Governor Quinn’s Neighborhood Recovery Initiative is forcing lawmakers to launch their own investigation.
“One concern to me is the Auditor General was very cautious with this thing so I want to have conversations with him and find out more about his concerns” says Brauer.
Brauer sits on the Legislative Audit Commission and says the move to obtain subpoenas is highly unusual. Federal prosecutors are also looking into how money for the program was spent.
