Parents of Springfield District 186 students have been notified that a district employee has been diagnosed with the mumps.
School officials say the employee was not in contact with any students and are working with the Sangamon County Health Department.
The district says most students have been immunized for the mumps and do not expect it to be a problem. Staff members who may have come in contact with the individual have been notified.
