Several high-profile cases have been continued until late this summer.
The murder trials of Leon Neal, Jason Underwood and Jermaine Davis are scheduled to get underway in August. Defense attorneys and prosecutors agreed that more time is needed to prepare for trial.
Neal and Underwood are charged with murder for the first homicide of 2014 on south Wirt street, which stemmed from a botched robbery. Davis is one of two men charged with the 2012 deaths of Larry Grice and Andrea Pocklington on north 9th street in Springfield.
Also, the trial of former Lanphier High School teacher Jennifer Tyree has been continued until August. She is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student in 2012.
Tyree’s, Davis’s and Neal’s cases have been continued until August 4. Underwood’s case will resume August 18.
