A judge has sentenced a Danville man to life in prison in an eastern Illinois triple killing, deeming his behavior toward the victims’ relatives “despicable.”
Jerome Harris, 29, yawned, rolled his eyes and laughed in a Vermilion County courtroom while the victims’ relatives described their lives without their loved ones.
Circuit Judge Nancy Fahey said Harris’ reaction reflected a lack of remorse about the 2007 shooting deaths of Rodney Pepper of Chicago, and Ta’Breyon McCullough and Madisen Leverenz, both of Danville.
