The people who put the wet stuff on the red stuff are a special breed.
A memorial at the Prairie Capital Convention Center Friday morning was part of the Illinois Association of Fire Protection Districts’ annual convention. Three men who died in the line of duty were remembered for
their “end of service.” They are Lt. Bruce Britt of Columbia, Lawrence “Lance” Stone of West Union, and Zion native Anthony Rose of Prescott, Ariz.
“You become a family,” IAFPD vice president Brett Kunkel said. He’s president of the Shoal Creek Fire Protection District near Litchfield.
