The Sangamon County Coroner’s Office has identified the female remains found in Rochester on July 19th.
Forensic evidence determined they belong to a 43 year old woman from Decatur, whose identity is not being released due to the ongoing investigation. Her family has been notified.
A motive for why the body was placed where it was, plus the manner in which she died, haven’t yet been determined. The investigation is ongoing.
