New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is questioning the motivation behind Illinois’ new same-day voter registration and the state’s certified ballot as he campaigns for Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner.
Christie is Republican Governors Association chairman. He stopped at Rauner’s Chicago campaign headquarters Monday and was to attend fundraisers.
Christie scrutinized the timing of Illinois’ same-day voter registration law and the State Board of Elections’ decision to allow a gubernatorial candidate from the Libertarian Party, but not the Green Party, on the Nov. 4 ballot.
