Police in Elmhurst are investigating a family’s apparent murder suicide. The DuPage County coroner says 82-year-old Francis Stack shot his wife and two adult children before turning the gun on himself. The children were a 57-year-old daughter and 48-year-old son.

The bodies were found Saturday night after someone called police out of concern for the family’s well-being. Police said in a statement that officers found the victims “with visible gunshot wounds.” Police recovered a weapon at the scene.

Sunday afternoon four white crosses with the victims’ names and flowers were set outside the home. Neighbors described the Stacks as loving parents.
