Most of the same Illinois organizations that helped consumers sign up for insurance in the first year of the Affordable Care Act will receive additional funding for a second year.
The Illinois Department of Public Health released a list of 37 community groups that will share a total of $25.8 million in federal funding. The groups will use the money to employ outreach counselors, sometimes called navigators.
The Springfield Urban League is among those receiving more money, as is the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and the Erie Family Health Center in Chicago.
