A biker was treated at a Springfield hospital and released after a rear-end collision on Interstate 55 Sunday afternoon.

State police say the motorcycle rear-ended a van which was slowed or stopped in traffic, and the driver sailed off the bike and hit two other vehicles. The wreck happened around 1 p. m. near the South Grand Avenue exit and tied up traffic for about a half hour.

State police provided the ages, genders, and cities of those involved. The motorcyclist is a 36-year-old man from Chadwick; the van driver is a 56-year-old man from Mahomet; the other two drivers are a 20-year-old woman from Normal and a 59-year-old man from St. Louis.
