Springfield mayoral candidate Paul Palazzolo says he wants to reestablish the position of city planner.
With a plan written in 2000 and says is just gathering dust, Palazolo says he is frustrated with the lack of vision in the Houston administration and wants to get a city planning function up and running again to put together growth plans rather than just issue reports.
“We have to a focus on Springfield to implement,” says Palazzolo. “Not just do the planning but to implement.”
“Leadership is an art. You have to be able to practice that art in a collaborative manner, not just coast,” he says.
He says cities like Champaign and Bloomington have a city planner and he says Springfield can become more than an old-growth city.
