The housing market is a bit stagnant in central Illinois but Capital Area Realtors president Mike Buscher says that is not unusual, especially this time of year.

Buscher says uncertainity on Wall Street could be contributing to the decline in home sales.

“The number of sales are down a bit but the median price is up a little bit which follows a lack of inventory,”  says Buscher.  “The election may have something to do with that.  The economy may also have something to do with that.”

Latest statistics show home sales have declined by about 9-point-5 percent from this time last year but, the median home price is holding steady.
