While Ebola has not yet reached Illinois, Dr. Lamar Hasbrouck, director of the Department of Public Health, says he is working with healthcare providers to ensure they have procedures in place to treat potential victims of the virus.
“We have been talking about potentially designating some hospitals as Ebola centers of excellence,” says Hasbrouck. “We have been doing a lot of things behind the scenes to share information with key stakeholders and healthcare workers.”
