Jacksonville Police say they have someone they want to interview in a shooting death from Friday morning.
Marcus Jackson, 24, was found dead shortly after 2:00 a.m. in the 300 block of north Fayette. An autopsy confirmed Jackson’s cause of death was due to a gunshot wound.
A news release didn’t provide a description of the suspect being sought. The shooting happened near Jacksonville School District 117’s main office, but the district’s superintendent says students were never in any danger.
Classes in Jacksonville went on as scheduled Friday.
