Iles School was locked down Thursday afternoon after a shooting involving multiple people.
Springfield Deputy Police Chief Dan Mounce says the incident started shortly after 1:00 in the 1600 block of South 14th Street. Iles is located at 1700 S. 15th. He says police have four suspects in custody, two adults and two juveniles. It’s so far unclear if all of them were involved.
Police recovered one handgun in the 1800 block of South Street Court. One home was damaged, but no one was injured.
Mounce says multiple shots were fired; Iles was not the target. It’s unclear what or who the target was.
The investigation is ongoing.
