So far, so good at the polls. No major problems have been reported. If early numbers count, voter turn-out today should run pretty high according to Sangamon County Clerk Joe Aiello.

“We anticipate about a 56-percent turn-out,” says Aiello. “For presidential elections we get a higher percentage.”

Early voting also is higher this year. Aiello attributes that to interest in the race for Governor and Sangamon County Sheriff. He says Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s ruling that early ballots could not be counted until the polls close should not slow down his office’s ability to report results.
