Thefts from Springfield schools and churches have raised a few eyebrows in the Springfield Police Department.
Officers say a black man in his late teens or early 20’s is taking laptops, cell phones, wallets, purses and more. He so far has hit Our Savior’s Lutheran Church on Old Jacksonville Road, Trinity Lutheran on MacArthur, Franklin Middle School and St. John’s Lutheran Church on West Washington. In one instance, the man gave a false statement and was allowed to stay inside when confronted.
