Drivers who use I-55 through the city will have to brace for some detours.
I-55 northbound immediately north of I-72 will be shut down Tuesday while crews repair some damaged wire. Traffic on southbound I-55 between mileposts 92 and 94 will be reduced to one between 9am and 11am.
The Illinois State Police says northbound will be diverted to South Sixth Street and then Stevenson Drive.
