Last week’s major house fire near 10th and Ash has claimed a life.
Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards says Leroy Jackson, 59, died from injuries sustained in the fire, but didn’t elaborate beyond that. 14 people lived in that house, and of them four were sent to get treatment — including Jackson.
The Springfield Fire Department is still investigating, though last week it revealed faulty wiring as the fire’s cause.
