Arguably the most popular driver in NASCAR today, Dale Earnhardt Jr., was in Springfield Thursday. He brought with him Xfinity Cup driver Justin Allgaier, and Porsche GT3 Cup Brazil Series driver, Miguel Paludo. Brandt sponsors both Allgaier and Paludo, and Earnhardt and his sister, Kelley Earnhardt-Miller, own the team they race for. Earnhardt said it was great getting to come learn more about the company that sponsors his drivers.
“Yeah I’m excited about the partnership.” Earnhardt said. “This is my first time here so it’s awesome to see the company, and get to meet everybody, and get to spend a little more time talking one on one and just seeing a little bit more about the company and seeing how it works. There’s so many moving parts involved in so many different areas and so many different countries, so it’s a learning process for me.”
Justin Allgaier is a native of Riverton, Illinois. He fielded the last question of the day and was asked what was one thing you need to do when you visit Springfield? We’re sure you can guess his answer.
“I’m going to give what you have to eat.” said Allgaier. “There’s a lot of recommendations on where you can get it from, but you can pretty much get it anywhere in Springfield, it’s called a horseshoe.” Allgaier said either Darcy’s Pint or Ritz’s has the best horseshoes in town.
