The Illinois state police say they are aware of planned events along several interstate corridors scheduled for the coming week intended to create a convoy of trucks that could impede the regular flow of traffic.

Authorities say these kind of activities can be very dangerous and could cause traffic accidents. They say those involved in impeding traffic could be held criminally responsible for any damages, injuries or deaths.

The convoys are meant as a show of support for truckers in Canada who oppose the governments vaccine mandates.

The Illinois State Police urges all motorists to abide by traffic laws for the safety of all.
