$400,000 in TIF (tax increment financing) money is available to The Springfield Park District to make improvements to two near-northside parks: Gerhmann and Enos.

The Springfield Area Arts Council hosted the District’s public input meeting Wednesday—a chance for neighborhood residents to suggest improvements they’d like to see.

“We really want to hear from the neighbors what the neighborhood needs,” said Park District President Leslie Sgro. “So, we don’t want to make assumptions. I want to come to the public and say, ‘What would you like?’. We’ve done this before, and we’ve gotten some great ideas.”

Better security, playgrounds, and newer walking paths were a few of the ideas presented to the board by Enos Park residents.
