A massive explosion sent a 40 foot vessel to the bottom of Seneca’s Springbrook Marina in LaSalle County and 14 people to the hospital late Saturday afternoon.
Illinois Conservation Police aren’t sure what caused the explosion nor have they revealed the identities of any of the people involved.
Investigators say it happened around 420 pm just after refueling and believe the explosion occurred inside the vessel.
One of the injured was flown to a Chicago hospital with critical injuries.
The Illinois State Police and the State Fire Marshalls Office are assisting in the recovery and investigation.
