A 52 year old Georgia man is dead following an early morning rollover crash just north of Springfield.
Illinois State Police say a 34 foot boxtruck was exiting the interstate at mile marker 103 to go into the Rail Splitter rest stop, when it drove off the right side of the ramp and turned over. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, a 27 year old California man, wasn’t injured. The crash’s cause is still under investigation and no charges were filed.
