Don’t be a hero…that’s the word from Sangamon County Public Health Director Jim Stone.  He says the world will continue to revolve, even if you stay home in bed.

“Stay home.  I know there are people who want to wear that badge of honor.  ‘I never miss a day of work.’ But, you know what?  While some of your co-workers would love to see you, they don’t want to see you when you are sick” Stone advises.

Stone says it is unclear what the flu season will hold this year.  He says the department has stocked particular innoculations based on predictions from the national Center for Disease Control.  He stresses it is not too late to be innoculated…the flu season in central Illinois typically runs through March.
