A 69 year old man walking along Illinois Route 29 and Tuxhorn Road late Friday night was struck and killed by a motor vehicle.
The Coroner’s Office pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene around 11:30pm.
The identity of the man is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday. The death remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Sangamon County Coroner‘s Office.
