Mayor Jim Langfelder invoked the name of the man who runs Memorial Health as he cut a big blue ribbon opening the Fifth and Sixth Street underpass Wednesday morning.
“It heads up to the medical district; it’s the corridor leading into our great city; and, as Ed Curtis said, (rail consolidation) is the highest priority capital project in our city.”
The mayor was just one of many speakers at the event, emceed by U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.)
