A stabbing three Saturdays ago is the Sangamon and Menard County Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week. It happened the afternoon of September 24-th near Old Rochester Road and South Grand Avenue East in Springfield.

The victim, with non-life-threatening injuries, said the stabber is a heavier-set man with a backpack and some yellow bags. He was also walking a dog.

This week’s Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week is the shooting of a woman who answered the door early in the morning January 25-th in the 2200 block of East Spruce Street in Springfield.

Crime Stoppers is asking for the publics help in solving a robbery that occured in the 1700 block of Seven Pines Road

On Feb 20th around 230pm the victim was selling a white X-box. Police say after the sale the victim was battered by 2 black males both about 5’6” one in a black Adidas Jump suit and the other wearing a red/blue/white Tommy Hilfiger jacket with writing on the back .

The X-box, money and a black phone were stolen and the suspects fled on foot.

Crime of the Week

The theft of cell phones from a T-Mobile store in Springfield is this week’s Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week. Police say four teenagers walked into the store in South West Plaza February 12, distracting the clerk and taking the phones, running to their car, and leaving.

People matching their description also, police say, stole phones from a store in Forsyth about two hours later.
