Thursday around 11 dignitaries from many sectors will gather at CWLP for the groundbreaking of a project that promises to reap tremendous, world-wide benefits in the field of clean energy production
The Prairie Research Institute’s 10 MegaWatt carbon capture project at CWLP’s Dallman Unit 4 will be one of the world’s largest carbon capture pilots.
The CO2 Capture Technology to be deployed will demonstrate how capture technologies can be economic and successfully integrated with power plants and industrial facilities to greatly reduce CO2 emissions.
The project is receiving $67 million in funding from the Dept. of Energy and other sources.
U of I President Tim Killeen, Mayor Langfelder, City, State and Federal officials including those from the US Department of Energy, City Water, Light and Power (CWLP) and Plumbers & Steamfitters #137 will be in attendence.
