The Sangamon County Highway Department has issued a level 2 emergency, meaning roads aren’t closed but travel isn’t recommended.
Wind gusts will start to pick up tonight, creating dangerous conditions as blowing and drifting becomes a concern. Some roadways may be at least partially closed.
Abandoned vehicles could be ticketed and/or towed so plows and emergency vehicles can get through.
