The man killed in a car crash early Wednesday morning has been identified.
Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards says Octavio Acencio-Ramirez, 23, of the 300 block of Scarlet Lane was a passenger in a car driven by Krista Spencer, 22, of Tallula.
Spencer turned into the path of a semi-truck when the car was struck on the passenger side. Both Acencio-Ramirez and Spencer were taken to Memorial Medical Center. She was treated and released; Ramirez was pronounced dead around 3:30 Wednesday morning. The semi driver was not injured.
Police say no drugs or alcohol appeared to be involved but the crash is still being investigated.
