The Springfield Vegan Chef Challenge has wrapped up, and the winning chefs were presented awards at a ceremony on November 19th at Erin’s Pavillion.
Winners were chosen by Springfield residents who dined at the participating restaurants during the Challenge.
Around 350 people voted for various chefs and dishes, and there were also 19 “super voters,” diners who ate at four or more Vegan Chef Challenge restaurants during the month of October.
Voters were vegan, vegetarian, and meat-eaters.
Organizers of the challenge say vegans want more options, and restaurants want more customers, making the challenge a win-win.
The event was hosted by Vegan Outreach, a non-profit aimed at curbing the consumption of meat.
