One alderman won’t take the city economic development director’s word for it that financing is in order for the Scheels sports complex planned for the south end of Springfield.
Ald. Roy Williams cast a Present vote on $4.6 million to be passed along to the developers, “Financing is very stable,” director Val Yazell told the council before discussing loan agreements and other details.
Williams wants something in writing, and corporation counsel Greg Moredock told him he would arrange for the alderman to see that documentation.
