Vanity license plates are fun, but Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias says there are limits.

He announced Wednesday that his office in 2023 added 304 requested vanity plates to its list of those denied for being profane, offensive, or simply – in the case of, say, QOOQQOO – too difficult to read.

“They were denied because they were deemed too obscene or defamatory by our team, which is well versed in lecherous language and sneaky swearing,” Giannoulias said in a video message.

It sounds as if you need a dirty mind to work in that office.

Anyway, there are now 7,674 combinations on that naughty list.
