Springfield, ILĀ (wtax.com) – The 2023-24 Illinois bobcat season wrapped up in mid-February and hunters and trappers harvested 370 bobcats. Fifty-five percent were taken by hunters, and trapping accounted for another 40%. The remainder were from circumstances such as roadkill. There were 7,000 bobcat lottery applicants this last season and 1,000 permits were issued. Hunters and trappers in Jo Daviess County reported 19 bobcats, the most for any county.
