Officials in Decatur say a screen intended to keep invasive Asian carp out of Lake Decatur has been knocked loose by ice. City Manager Ryan McCrady told the City Council this week that chunks of ice and heavy water flow dislodged the 4-foot screen late last month.

Water Management Director Keith Alexander said there’s no immediate danger carp will swim into the lake yet but, that could change as the Sangamon River rises in the spring.
