A Springfield company is complaining about how the city is procuring a new nurse case manager.
MMCS Workers Comp Case Management lost a bid in 2011 to Triune, the latter of which wants to hire a new “nurse case manager” for the city of Springfield — the problem is, its choice lives in Macon County — which runs afoul of the current contract. Springfield budget director Bill McCarty says it’s not about where they live.
“If you don’t have a very good, well qualified person apply from Sangamon County, and you have someone who’s very good and well qualified outside the county, I think Triune probably feels the same way I do — you want the best, most qualified person for the job,” said McCarty.
MMCS says Triune won the contract under the auspice it would follow the parameters — and it hasn’t, which isn’t fair.
The city council could discuss the hire this week, although the ordinance to change the contract was left in committee.
