It is a digital world but some still rely on the US Postal Service to get their tax returns to Uncle Sam.
The USPS’ Sue Litterly says the East Cook facility will again be open late and postmarking returns ahead of the midnight deadline.
“Something we are doing that we haven’t done before is we will have mail handlers after our closing hours of 5:30 where you can still come in and put your mail in their hands” Litterly says.
Litterly says the amount of paper returns has greatly declined but she says IRS officials tell her some are still more comfortable to filling out the paper forms.
