Several hundred vehicles of every kind participated in the 22nd annual Ride to Remember Sunday morning.

The ride began at Halls Harley-Davidson and proceeded through the streets of Springfield before a memorial wreath laying ceremony at the 911 memorial constructed at the Southwest side of the Capitol Complex.

Mayor Misty Buscher was in attendance as was Sangamon County Sheriff, Jack Campbell, who both participated in the ceremony.

17-year-old high junior, Livia Neves, led the crown in stirring renditions of the National Anthem and God Bless America.

A Dance Creations Dance Studio troupe performed a routine for the assembled that commemorated the events of 9/11 and even though there was a technical glitch that killed their musical accompaniment halfway through the recital the team continued on ‘without missing a beat’.
