$34,000 worth of cocaine recovered by police at Springfield home

Springfield Police recovered 669 grams of cocaine with an estimated value of $34,000 during the search of a home in the 1100 block of N. Wheeler Ave. on Tuesday around 3 p.m.

Prior to the search, 25-year-old Octavion Williams of Springfield was arrested. According to police, Williams had 5.61 grams of crack cocaine on him when he was taken into custody.

Following William’s arrest, cocaine, scales and more than $13,000 in cash was recovered at the N. Wheeler Ave. location.

Williams was arrested for manufacture and delivery 400-900 grams of cocaine, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 500 feet of a church, manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance within 500 feet of a school, and possession 400-900 grams of cocaine. Williams was out on bond at the time of his arrest.
