The spread of respiratory viruses is declining in Illinois. The Illinois Department of Public Health announced Friday that the state’s overall level decreased from low to minimal according to CDC data. Illinois is also at a low level for COVID-19 hospitalizations.
IDPH indicates RSV season also winding down in the state, and the use of the RSV vaccine in pregnancy is no longer warranted. However, RSV shots for infants and young children will continue to be available until the end of the season, and older adults can still get their RSV vaccine even after the season is declared over.
