Springfield Ballet Company is moving operations to a 7,500 square-foot space on the third floor at 401 East Washington Street in historic downtown Springfield. The new facility will include 3 dance studios, administrative offices, a lounge area, a costume shop, and dressing rooms.

“Having our home in this historic downtown area affords us the opportunity to help in the revitalization of downtown Springfield, and truly become part of the cultural fabric of Springfield,” said Executive Director Scott Raper. “Along with the incredible visibility that comes with a presence in this area, we are happy to remain in downtown Springfield, which has been the organization’s home since 2003.”

“Moving into our new home allows the organization to grow in many directions that we were unable to explore in the past, due to the lack of available space in which to accommodate SBC’s growing needs,” said Artistic Director Adam Sage. “With this new location, we can now open our own ballet school and offer the high quality of training that Springfield dancers deserve, in a professional, nurturing, positive, and inclusive environment.”

SBC will open its doors for business at the new location this June, with its first offerings being the 2022 Summer Intensive for intermediate and advanced dancers, along with summer camps designed specifically for younger dancers.

Springfield Ballet Company is a non-profit, civic ballet company dedicated to bringing professional-quality performances, and professional training for dancers in an inclusive environment, while enriching the lives of the surrounding communities.
