The Attorney General says the Springfield School Board violated the Open Meetings Act when it discussed the demolition of Enos School over the summer.
The AG’s Public Access Bureau issued an informal determination, saying the June 3rd discussions included things that needed to be made public. The district disagrees, saying the board is allowed to discuss the purchase or exchange of property in a closed door meeting, which would have been necessary for the so-called “adaptive reuse” of Enos School.
The AG won’t issue a binding opinon, so the district can’t ask for administrative review or further defend its position. Any questions were deferred to the district’s attorney.
