A grand jury has indicted a Springfield man on 10 counts; he’s accused of attacking a police officer who was responding to a 911 call.

Police say Antonio Florence tried to disarm the officer, struck him in the head and bit him on the face and arm. Sangamon County State’s Attorney John Milhiser says the officer was likely responding to a sexual assault call, perpetrated by Florence.

He’s being held in jail on $1 million bond pending a March 31st court appearance.
