77 ‘candidates’, people who worked to become naturalized American citizens had their American Dream come true on Monday when they took the Oath of Allegiance to their new country.
It happened at the Monday afternoon ceremony at the ALPLM.
The auditorium was packed with family, well-wishers, city, state and federal officials and media.
Magistrate Judge Karen McNaught presided over the ceremony and Mayor Misty Busher was on hand to address the assembled.
Busher urged the newest citizens to carry their traditions and customs into their new life and make those ideals part of the American tapestry.
