The historic Becker Library on the former campus of Benedictine University was attacked by graffiti vandals last night.
The entire property is undergoing a major renovation and owner Tony Libri says the damage will be in the tens of thousands of dollars.
The vandals left behind evidence that will help the police in identifying them including beer cans with fingerprints.
A $1000 dollar reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the vandals.
