As some Benedictine University students search for a new college home, there are local options available.

At least two area colleges are ready to pitch in after Benedictine University’s announcement last month it is ending its “traditional” undergraduate programs. Lincoln Land Community College will be holding an informational fair for students to help them navigate the process for transferring.

LLCC’s Vice President for Student Services Lesley Frederick says her school is working with Benedictine officials to ease the transition to include the financial component.

“Our board of trustees meet in special session last week and have agreed to provide in-district tuition to any current Benedictine students that transfer to Lincoln Land,” says Frederick.

The student fair will be held on Benedictine’s campus November 11. Illinois College in Jacksonville will also have admission counselors on hand.
