Students and their parents were able to ask questions of Benedictine University Springfield campus officials about alternatives for continuing their college educations Thursday night.
The university announced they are no longer accepting freshmen and transfer students and will close down their dorms and end their athletic programs at the end of the spring semester.
Via press release, university officials say the school, based in suburban Chicago with campuses in Springfield and Arizona, will focus on continuing adult education.
Members of the media were barred from the event.
Students reportedly received the news that they need to find a new school in the fall via email.
